Yep, the closest one to home of the 4 in this area is on the list, which isn't really a bad thing for me as the one shutting has been crappy since day one.
You go in the place, and there are empty shelves, empty pegs, etc, even around Christmas. Talking to one of the Managers there, it seems the General Manager wasn't going to bring anything in that he wasn't sure would sell, so whle that one was good for games, the rest sucked boulders for stock. I think they still have ML4 floating around in the back as the last ML line they brought in.
I wonder how this is going to affect Mr. Nixon?

none near me are closing... although it seems smart to close the one in Arlington Heights cuz there's another one in the next city over.
now that i think about it, i've been to TRU maybe 4 or 5 times in the last year and haven't bought anything...

They cut it really close with the ones in Hampton and Tyson's Corner.
As long as the ones in Roanoke and Winston-Salem, NC don't close I'll be good.

This didn't affect your president at all. Most of the stores closing were simply unprofitable. Or may have been on land that TRU owned and it would be a lot more profitable to sell the real estate. At least a dozen of those closing will be converted to Baby's R US stores.
My personal feeling is that a lot of middle corporate management has been around way too long and are still basically mired in the fifties and sixties. Everytime I go to work I have to say to myself, 'This is one of the worst designed and presented stores in existence.' The graphics are beyond retro.
It's time to get some people in charge that are in the 21st century.

it's been nearly a year since I've set foot in a TRU. the one here just isn't that good, and since my collecting has dwindled to almost nothing, I wouldn't care if they did close it.

I don't understand the TRU mentality of holding on to toys that should have been marked for clearance long ago...
If I were an owner I'd be dumping stuff at cost or lower. Old inventory eats up shelf space.
